Nashville Sump Pump/ Middle Tn Drainage !
The above image shows how a sump pump works. First water is collecting in an area where it is trapped and a positive drain cannot be installed. The area is sloped to drain toward the sump pump and in some cases an actual french drain is installed in the crawlspace that will drain into the sump pump. The pump comes on once water has lifted a float valve in the basin. A drain pipe is installed that guides the water to another location where it can drain safely away from the home.
